Strategic Business Growth

Moderator and Host: Dr. Joe Mayer, the Growth Coach
Expert Panelists: John Doucette, Liquid Capital of Northeast Ohio and Mark Pinto, the Edge Institute

The business paradigms in today’s economy are shifting fast. In the past the formula for success was simple; work hard and good things will happen. Today working smarter is the only way for businesses to sustain and grow.

This high powered panel will explain the key ingredients to use time wisely and set up strategies and hold oneself accountable toward one’s goals. How to develop a work climate that attracts, engages, and retains the best talent. How to get a better understanding of who would be able to finance growth from conventional sources and what less well known options are available for those who do not qualify.

Dr. Joe Mayer is the President of The Growth Coach, dedicated to help businesses and people grow by stimulating strategic thinking and by implementing proven processes to drive success.

As a former CEO and President, Joe has 25+ years experience in growing high tech companies as well as managing turnaround situations. Joe has led companies with manufacturing operations around the USA and Europe with sales and service teams serving customers in North America, Europe and Asia. His passion lays in coaching and developing teams and their leaders to achieve breakthrough results and in worldwide manufacturing and sourcing.

Joe has a Masters degree as well as a Ph.D. in Engineering from the Technical University in Stuttgart, Germany. He is a member of the Warrensville Heights Chamber and active on several association and industry boards.

John Doucette is President and owner of Liquid Capital of Northeast Ohio providing his clients with operating capital and supports their accounts receivable management functions, including processing and ledgering of invoices and payments, credit review and professional collection. He also works with most area banks and many other professionals to enable them to offer alternatives to their clients who do not qualify for bank financing.

Before returning full time to small business ownership in 2006 John held a variety of management, technical and sales positions over a 35-year career at both small companies and major corporations including BP and Computer Associates. He has also been a principal in several small ventures focusing on IT services and support. John received a BA degree from Tufts University and a MA from Cornell University. He is a member of the Westlake public schools Citizens Advisory Committee, a local interviewer for the Tufts University Alumni Admissions Program and District Chairman for the Friends of Scouting campaign of the Greater Cleveland Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Liquid Capital of Northeast Ohio is a member of COSE, the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce, the West Shore Chamber of Commerce and several other professional and networking groups. John is a member of the West Shore Chamber's Education Committee. A former professional musician, John also performs with the band of the German Music Society in Cleveland.

Mark Pinto, a collaborating partner with Edge Learning of Ohio, has delivered his unique brand of consulting for over seven years.

Mark spent the early part of his career as a consultant in the national office of a large international consulting firm. There, he developed competency in knowledge management, large group facilitation for strategic planning and adult, accelerated learning program development and delivery. This dynamic environment introduced Mark to many cutting edge technologies and business philosophies. Work was conducted in tight, collaborative time frames working in different locations nationally and internationally with a diverse group of team members often coming together for the first time.

He brought his experience in collaborative, group processes and teaming into his own company in 2001 and has since expanded his knowledge and service into many small, medium and large companies in the US and abroad. His approach focuses on the whole person and addresses the issue of group learning and teaming, diverse learning styles and the process of lifelong learning. He is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College with a BA in Business and Communication.
