| The Power of a Smile |
A smile exudes friendliness and approachability. It can help you get your foot in the door with a new prospect, build rapport with your existing customers or simply make someone's day. Steve Millard from COSE, speaker from our March luncheon, stressed people want to do business with people who make them feel good and portray confidence and optimism . . . Why not start with a smile? If you missed Steve speaking you can watch it in it's entirety at whacc.org
What can a smile do for you? Have you ever noticed how good you feel when someone returns your smile? According to several studies, smiling releases endorphins which calm you and make you happier. Best of all, they are contagious.
Dale Carnegie, in his book How to Win Friends and Influence People, best summed up the lasting impacts of a smile: "It costs nothing, but creates much. It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever".
Best wishes,
Terri Criss, WHACC Communications Committee Chair
